"The world is run by those who show up"~ John Holdstock 1936-2010
BC Wildlife Federation lost a shining light with the passing of John B. Holdstock in 2010. He was a long-time member of the BCWF, moving up through the ranks to become President from 1996-1998. Apart from his presidency role in the Federation, he was also a director and committee chair. John’s commitment did not go unrecognized as he twice received the President’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Achievement and was honoured to receive the Barsby Award for Conservationist of the Year. John sat as the chair of the Board of Directors of the BC Conservation Foundation up until his passing.
To honour John's life, the BC Conservation Foundation has set up the John B. Holdstock Scholarship. Primary partners are The BC Conservation Foundation, The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, The Nature Trust of BC and The Okanagan Region Wildlife Heritage Society.
